Meet Oor Jimi

NIXON is excited to unveil its support for GCHC in the form of Oor Jimi!

Landing with a Purple Haze and his signature guitar (that he famously set on fire at one of his two Glasgow shows) artist Betti Moretti has made sure Oor Jimi is ready to Let the Good Times Roll at Merchant City.

Located at Brunswick Street, Oor Jimi is part of Scotland’s first ever national art trail – the Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail.

Inspired by Scotland’s favourite son, Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail will span 700 miles across Scotland this summer. A total of 200 life-sized Oor Wullie sculptures can be spotted across Glasgow and the West, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, and Edinburgh.

The Big Bucket Trail is looking to break records in support of those who need it most at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. With *60* specially designed statues showing Wullie like you’ve never seen him before, everyone at NIXON can’t wait to meet him.

Richard McFadzean, Managing Director of NIXON said: “We’ve been delighted to be able to Sponsor Oor Jimi! As a charity partner of GCHC,  the ‘Oor Wullie BIG Bucket Trail’ isthe perfect way to show our support for a great cause. We chose Oor Jimi because he is legendary!”

This free art event will run for 11 weeks from June 17 to August 30 and we would encourage you to meet as many of our friends as possible.

The trail will raise vital funds for all of Scotland’s children’s hospital charities – Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, the ARCHIE Foundation and Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity – to provide the very best possible care and support for the combined half a million babies, children and young people who are seen each year.
